Pazhamudircholai is revered as the sixth and final Arupadai Veedu of Lord Murugan, nestled amidst the lush forests and hills near Madurai. Unlike other Murugan temples, Pazhamudircholai uniquely depicts Lord Murugan alongside both his consorts, Valli and Deivanai, symbolizing the balance between worldly life and spiritual wisdom.

The temple is also associated with the famous story of the Tamil poet Avvaiyar, who was humbled by Murugan's divine wisdom through the playful lesson of the "sutta pazham" (roasted fruit). Because of this legend, Pazhamudircholai Murugan is worshipped as the embodiment of knowledge, humility, and enlightenment.

This handcrafted bronze and brass Pazhamudircholai Murugan statue beautifully captures the divine grace of Lord Murugan with intricate ornaments and traditional South Indian craftsmanship, reflecting centuries of Tamil spiritual heritage.
